ASHLEE + NIKO || DIY BACKYARD, WILLIAMSTOWN
Ashlee & Niko’s New Year’s Eve Junkyard wedding was the bomb!! I mean.. the title itself pretty much gives it away right?! We’re not going to try and sugar coat this or play it cool.. because when these two first enquired our insides were literally jumping with excitement. Hands-down one of the most unique weddings of 2017.. if not the century!
Both of our lovebirds started their morning filled with anticipation, joy and excitement.. not only because it was the last day of 2017 but because it was also their wedding day, a day they had been waiting years to come! Our beautiful Ashlee spent the morning getting ready surrounded by her “bride mob” whilst Niko spent it with his closest family members and nearest & dearest mates. Man do these guys have A LOT of friends!
We then made our way to the Williamstown Botanical Gardens for their uniquely wonderful ceremony. Ashlee was walked down the aisle by both her parents as a Mariachi band played some sweet, sweet music. Everything about their ceremony was perfect, from their personalised vows to the romantic dance they shared after they had been announced husband and wife. There were so many standout moments that we can’t possibly write about them all!
After their ceremony we were joined by Free the Bird weddings for their location shoot. The afternoon was super chilled out and we hung around the botanical gardens making the most of the afternoon light. Just when we thought the day couldn’t get any better, the photographer whipped out some smoke bombs and it was official, we just knew this was going to be one of the most memorable weddings ever.
We then made our way to what Ashlee and Niko as ”The Block” which is Niko’s dad’s private junkyard in Williamstown North. Man, this was one of the coolest venues we have EVER shot at or attended. After some amazing speeches, a delicious Argentinian BBQ and endless amounts of tequila and vodka, our newlyweds hit the dance floor where their friends sung a personalised song for their first dance. It was then time for the most anticipated moment of the night, the New Years Eve Countdown and the start of their New Year as husband and wife.
